About Me

I am an Indian-American living in Manhattan’s East Village. I was brought up as a vegetarian (eating eggs and dairy) but have always had a curiosity when it comes to cooking and seeking out new flavor combinations. In line with this, I love eating out – especially at ethnic restaurants or while I’m traveling. But this can prove to be challenging since many cuisines are seemingly not vegetarian-friendly and communication about my dietary “restrictions” can easily get lost in translation. Additionally, having been brought up vegetarian, I have an intense repulsion towards fake meat. The smell alone is enough to keep me at a distance (don’t even get me started on veggie bacon). So this blog is for me to share my recipes, tips and thoughts on vegetarianism, as well as to review restaurants (both vegetarian/vegan and non-vegetarian/non-vegan). I hope it’s to your liking! Enjoy.

I love this idea of veggiewala. It is often chellege to find good vegitarian food when you are travelling. It is good to try new recipies @home. keep up the good work.
