When in London, Eat Chinese

[tweetmeme source= “Veggiewala” only_single=false]

London’s Chinatown may not have the gritty-appeal that I’ve become accustomed to, but then again, I’m not accustomed to great vegetarian dim sum everyday…so I guess change is a good thing! When I go for dim sum in NYC or Boston, usually my favorite items, including fried dough cheung fun and coconut cream soup with tapioca, disappear really fast. But Wan Chai Corner Chinese Restaurant offers these dishes plus many more made to order everyday from 11a.m. to 5p.m. And since Wan Chai is an institution, it attracts an extremely diverse and interesting crowd, from traveling businessmen to large families. My only complaint is that there were fewer bun options than what I would have liked. But, hey – no problem! Only a few doors down is Kowloon Bakery, which has every type of bun you can imagine – egg custard buns, red bean sesame buns, curry buns, lotus buns, etc. Whether you live in London or are just passing through, take full advantage of all the great vegetarian options Chinatown has to offer.
